Ngē (beh)
Force oneself to; have to; simply (have to); be set on; determined to
M̄ hó ka-kī bô ài ê mi̍h-kiāⁿ, ngē kiò pa̍t-lâng chiap-siū.
It’s not nice to be determined to make others take what you don’t want for yourself.
Kiò i mài lim chíu, i ngē beh lim.
You tell him not to drink alcohol, and he wants to drink even more.
I ngē beh khì, góa tio̍h bô i ê ho̍at.
