Hoan-gêng

I’m still fixing small errors as I find them, and adding some new example sentences, but the dictionary is basically complete.  Most entries should be fine, just be on the lookout for the occasional misspelling or missing “o dot.”

If you see boxes mixed in with words in the Taiwanese sample sentences, your browser is not properly displaying some tone marks (usually eighth-tone marks or seventh-tone marks on words such as m or nng). Try using Firefox.

A few new entries:

Looked at from this perspective, if the Dutch had not ceded Taiwan to Zheng Cheng-gong at this time, Singang-language publishing and education would perhaps have become more and more important, and may have even become the common language among the (aboriginal) peoples of the lowlands, playing the role of a catalyst for a Taiwan ethnic identity centered around the lowlands peoples.
